Intim, ergreifend, authentisch und tiefgründig: Meadows gibt sein Innenleben preis. Manchmal düster, manchmal hoffnungsvoll, aber immer voller Leben und Emotionen. Geboren und aufgewachsen ist der Fingerstyle Gitarrist und Songwriter Christoffer Wadensten in der Kleinstadt Söderköping an der Ostküste Schwedens. Er hat die letzten paar Jahre unter dem Pseudonym Meadows die Welt bereist und mit seiner introspektiven, akustischen Musik zahlreiche Clubs und Wohnzimmer erfüllt und verzaubert. Seine Musik vereint Menschen, macht Fremde zu Freunden und Fans, die in seiner Musik Zuflucht und Vertrauen finden.
Seine erste EP "The Only Boy Awake" wurde im Jahr 2016 durch das deutsche Label "What We Call Records" veröffentlicht. Der Titeltrack wurde in die Netflix-Serie "Tote Mädchen lügen nicht" ("13 Reasons Why”) aufgenommen. Mittlerweile kann Meadows über 30 Millionen Streams vorweisen.
Der Titel von Meadows’ neuem Album - "The Emergency Album" - ist inspiriert vom amerikanischem Lyriker Frank O’Hara. Es erzählt von der Fähigkeit einen Gefühlszustand während eines Notfalls zu fassen und spüren. Das Album markiert einen Wendepunkt in Wadenstens Leben und schafft Platz für einen neuen Zyklus in dessen Musik: Tiefsinnig, betrübt und wunderschön zugleich.
Hier ist nichts gesampelt oder programmiert. Die Arrangements reichen von schlichter Gitarre und Stimme hin zu tiefgehenden, detailverliebten Songs. Man könnte Wadensten als “Mad Professor” im Studio bezeichnen, der mit akustischen Instrumenten und analogen Synthesizern ein zeitlos schönes Endergebnis schafft.

Intimate, stirring, authentic and profound, Meadows turns his insides out; sometimes gloomy, sometimes hopeful, but always full of life and emotions. Born and raised in the small town of Söderköping, on the east coast of Sweden, the finger style guitarist and songwriter Christoffer Wadensten has traveled the world the last couple of years. Under the alias Meadows, he’s been sharing his introspective, dreamy acoustic music at clubs and festivals and in living rooms and theaters across Scandinavia, Europe, UK, Australia and USA. His performances bring people together, converting strangers into friends and fans who deeply connect with his music.
With a background in classical music, Wadensten appreciates the invisible art of music and how it works from the inside. He views the process of creating music similar to that of building the simplest to most complex structures into which he can step. Meadows released his first home made EP The Only Boy Awake in 2016 on the German label What We Call. The title track was featured in Netflix series 13 Reasons Why in 2017 and the EP have now earned over 30 Million streams.
The title of Meadows’ upcoming full length album, The Emergency Album, is inspired by the American poet, Frank O’hara, and his ability to catch the emotional state of being within an emergency. This album marks the end of a cycle in Wadensten’s life, and the beginning of a new cycle for his music -- deep, sad and beautiful all at once. As for the music, nothing is sampled or programmed. The arrangements span from simply guitar and voice to deep multilayered productions with intense focus down to the smallest detail. This makes Wadensten somewhat of a mad professor in the studio creating beautiful mixtures of sound using only acoustic instruments and analogue synthesizers.
The Emergency Album is due out March 27th, on the New York based label AntiFragile Music.
